At the annual Business Meeting on Friday, February 13, 2015, AHAA Chair Anna Marley proposed a vote to add a new Symposium Liaison position to the board. The proposed new language for the second page of the bylaws, Article VI, Section 3f, is: “A symposium liaison shall serve a term of three years in consultation with the co-chairs to facilitate coordination of the biennial symposium and act as a liaison between the AHAA board and the local symposium steering committee.”
The position does not dictate how those running a symposium should organize it. The liaison provides guidance/advice on protocols and institutional continuity between biennial conferences. (The full bylaws are viewable online at About > Bylaws.) The Symposium Liaison will continue to maintain and update the AHAA Symposium Protocols and Planning Guidelines.
AHAA is soliciting nominations for the new board position of Symposium Liaison. The Liaison will serve a three year term on the board and ideally will have some experience either in attending or organizing former AHAA symposia. Self-nominations are encouraged. Please send a one paragraph candidate statement and bio by April 24, 2015 to email@example.com.
