Membership in the Association of Historians of American Art is open to students, teachers, museum professionals, independent art historians, and others involved in the history of the art of the United States. Dues of $20 per year provide an online Membership Directory to facilitate exchange among scholars; newsletters with notices of exhibitions, jobs, fellowships, and conferences; opportunities to present new scholarship and discuss issues in the field at AHAA-sponsored conference sessions at the College Art Association annual meeting; and travel grants for emerging scholars.

To join, complete the membership form and mail it with your check for $20 dues, made out to AHAA, to R. Sarah Richardson/AHAA, 550J Grand Street, 11F, New York, NY 10002. Your password will be emailed to you when your dues and membership information have been processed. Please allow for three weeks to process your application.

To renew your membership, you may mail your $20 dues check made out to AHAA, to R. Sarah Richardson/AHAA, 550J Grand Street, 11F, New York, NY 10002. If your membership has expired and your password has been deactivated, it will be restored when your payment is processed. Don’t forget to update your profile by going to “Edit Profile” under the “About Us” menu item or clicking here. Please allow for three weeks to process your renewal.

Want to sustain AHAA's mission of supporting scholarship?
A lifetime membership
is available for $750; your membership will automatically renew annually. In compliance with the US Internal Revenue Code, $730 of the the lifetime membership is tax deductible.
