Calls for Session Proposals

AHAA seeks proposals for sessions to be held at two different CAA conferences. Please consult the Guidelines for Submitting Proposals.

• At the 2009 CAA conference to be held in Los Angeles on February 25-28, 2009, AHAA will host a 1 1/2-hour professional session. Professional sessions have tended to be more topical than art history sessions, and can address teaching and curatorial issues, including deaccessioning, exhibitions, patronage, auctions, and publishing. We want to include new voices, and encourage younger scholars in particular to make submissions. Proposals are due March 1, 2008, and successful chairs will be notified by May 1, 2008.

• At the 2010 CAA conference in Chicago, February 10-13, 2010, AHAA will host a 2 1/2- hour scholarly session. The scholarly session tends to be similar to the type of scholarly sessions generally held at CAA, although sometimes more topical issues are addressed. Scholarly session proposals for the 2010 conference are due April 1, 2008, and successful chairs will be notified by June 1, 2008.
